Season Awards

At the end of each season the league hands out its honours. They’re a measure of how your players — and you — stacked up against the whole NSL.

  • Most Valuable Player — the league’s outstanding player of the season.
  • Defender of the Year — the best defender in the league.
  • Goalkeeper of the Year — the top goalkeeper.
  • Scoring Champion — the season’s leading goalscorer.
  • Rookie of the Year — the best player in his first NSL season.
  • Best XI — a full team of the season’s standout performers, one per position.
  • Coach of the Year — the manager who got the most out of his club. This one’s for you.

The league doesn’t wait until the end of the year to recognise form. Throughout the season it names a Player of the Month and a Manager of the Month — keep an eye on the Schedule for the latest winners.

You don’t set out to win individual awards directly — they come from performance on the pitch. But they’re a good north star:

  • A striker banging in goals is chasing the Scoring Champion and MVP.
  • A rock-solid back line puts your defender and keeper in the frame for their awards.
  • A young signing who breaks out is your Rookie of the Year candidate.
  • Win games, exceed expectations, and Coach of the Year may be yours.
